How do I know if my work request has been received?

When you send a work request to Facilities Services via our online work request form, you will receive a reply confirming that the message has been received. A work order is then assigned to a maintenance technician.

If you phone with a work request, your message is taken, and a work order is assigned as before ~ the phone call is considered your confirmation. If you leave a phone message and include a valid phone number, you will receive a return call for confirmation.

Every work request is assigned the day it is received (or the following day, if received after 4:30 pm). However, because of the number of work requests we receive, it may take some time before your request is completed. Emergency requests take precedence over non-emergency requests, and are handled as soon as possible.

Who do I contact with an emergency request after hours?

For emergency facility-related issues outside of normal working hours (8:00 am to 5:00 pm), contact Capital Mall Security at 208.334.2222. If your request is not an emergency, use the work request form.

How can I get desks, file cabinets, and other furniture moved?

Each agency is responsible for moving their own furniture. Facilities Services may be able to provide carts and hand-trucks, if scheduled in advance. For large moving needs, contact Facilities Services for information about the contract company that provides these services for state agencies.

Where can I air up a low or flat tire?

There is a compressed air hose next to the Grounds office on the first floor of the parking garage. Look for the red sign.

When is the Capitol Building open?

The Capitol Building is open 7:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekdays, and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekends and holidays. It remains open later during Legislative Session.

What is the height clearance in the parking garage?

Seven feet. Truck campers that extend higher than the height of the cab will likely be too tall.
